"Taffy Spill" 12" x 16" watercolor
Taffy always reminds me of my wife's Grandma who simply loved salt water taffy. This painting was inspired by Jelaine Faunce's "Color Therapy" series. I loved the whole idea and the paintings she came up with.
For my therapy, I decided to paint with a lot of blue, now blue isn't my favorite color but the combination of blue and green (not turquoise) is! I love it! I enjoyed painting glass again and since I hadn't painted colored glass before, I truly enjoyed the challenge.

You did a great job on this, Pablo. Hard to believe you haven't painted colored glass before; you did it so well.
Your work is pure pleasure to view and look forward to your posts.
Just love this one, Pablo!! A fun idea and gorgeous painting!
Just wonderful. I love the colours and reflections. Wrapped candies are always such fun to draw and paint.
Colour therapy..a great idea.
This is beautiful, Pablo...I love glass and love to paint glass and you've done yourself proud with this one.
I really love this piece. It is very calming and pleasing to look at. I love the blue shades, and the colorful candy.
Beautiful painting and composed brilliantly!
Thank you for stopping by and checking out my candy spill! It was very fun to paint and so needed because it was done during prepping all the kids for the school year, I totally needed that therapy!
More to come soon! :0)
This is so beautiful. The colors the arrangement, the jar. I love it all.
Bella Pablo!! los colores muy brillantes, qué buena terapía,
Hola Pablo! excelente acuarela, muy buena la terapia de los colores y deliciosos caramelos. Saludos.
Thank you Angela!
Gracias Ale y Beyla. . . gracias por visitar me. Abrazos
You've done the glass perfectly!!! WOW - Can't wait to see your second effort at it!! The whole painting is super. I love the composition and the way the little beads on the neck of the jar lead you down into the taffy pieces. GREAT shadow, too. I love the exaggeration of blue and how you softened it and grayed it at the front. My grandmother gave us taffies and caramels wrapped up like that, so it brings a feeling of nostalgia for me, as well.
Just came across your blog. What wonderful colors in your paintings! Lovely.
