Friday Feature on Carrie Waller's blog

I'm very honored to be the featured artist on Carrie Waller's blog this week.  I had lots of fun answering questions and sharing stories about my, uh, mysterious past.

(yup, that's me at about 1 1/2 years old)

Currently on my easel

Ok, so I don't paint on an easel and I have several things I'm working on but I thought since I haven't updated my blog in a little while I'd let you see one of the things I'm working on.  Thanks for checking in, I'll have some new paintings to show you soon!  ;0)

Peeps y'all!

"Equality for all Peeps" 6"x6" watercolor by Pablo
"A Fistful of Peeps" 11"x14" oil on canvas by Geraud Staton
"Happy Hour Peeps" 10"x10" watercolor by Kathleen Ballard
"Little Bo Peep" 6"x6" watercolor by Chris Beck
(Jelaine Faunce is having a showdown with the Internet so as soon as she's laid down the law at the OK Coral, I'll post her image ;0)  )
All of the sudden, peeps are all the rage!  Lately I've seen more peep posts and pictures than I can remember.  I don't remember what got me started on painting peeps a few years ago and I never meant for them to take over but they have a way of, well, invading my space!  This year has been no exception even though I swore off peeps.
I've been challenged by some of my most creative friends this time so how could I have turned it down?  I went simply for something I feel is important this time:
Equality for all Peeps!

Valentines Challenge!

"OXO"  8"x10" watercolor by yours truly
Three boxes of Sweethearts and a bag of large Sweethearts later, I had the still life I wanted to paint!  Ok, four boxes but who's counting after the first two!  This was a sweet challenge to be a part of. . snicker snicker, had it not been for the candy, I might not have powered through a touch of the flu during the painting!  Suffering for art was not part of the plan but I'm so glad I was able to finish it in time to be part of the challenge with a fine group of painters.  Please check out their blogs to get the story behind their paintings!  just clickity click on their names  :0)

Desert Primrose

Desert Primrose 10.5" x 8"
I love these flowers, such a beautiful pink and a warm yellowish glow in the center, and then there's the lovely darker pink veins. . . in the spring, they look like a carpet of pink in the desert.  But really what got me to paint this watercolor was the bee on the glass.  So cool.

Gumby Bears & Pokey Dots

Gumby Bears

Pokey Dots
Happy New Year everyone!  I thought I'd start out the new year with a little fun.  I used to watch Gumby and Pokey when I was little and thought they could make an interesting painting, of course I had to put my own twist on them!
I hope you had  safe and wonderful holidays, time to move forward!
