Pomo Dancer

Well I usually don't do preliminary sketches but I'm not sure what I want to do with the background for the painting I have in mind so this is a "study" of colors for the background. I thought this would be better than to paint the 18"x24" watercolor and not have a plan since watercolors can have a mind of their own when you least expect it! I also find it hard to paint small, so this was also a good chance for me to scale down to 8"x10"ish. . . .

Drawing for watercolors is different than drawing to draw, I'd forgotten how much I like just drawing portraits. More to come!

Dancing at Kule Loklo

Hola! Welcome to my blog!!! I'll be posting my watercolors in progress and what ever else comes to mind about being creative. The truth is, now that I have a blog, I'm not sure what to say, however, once I get past being blog shy, I'm sure I'll blather on and on!

This painting is a detail of "Dancing At Kule Loklo" one of my favorites, the little boy dancer is actually my three kids morphed together dancing at the "Big Time" at Point Reyes National Seashore's Miwok village. Check out the rest of the painting on my website.
Nos vemos!
