Cup Of Flower

Transparent Watercolor 24" x 18"

I wanted to paint something challenging for me which has always been clear glass and shiny metal! I have seen many many beautiful crystal, hand blown, colored glass paintings so I thought I'd try making Pyrex just as pretty! It was a nice change from the portraits I've been doing and the textured rock and ceramics. I think I'll do some more cause it's always nice to stretch your wings and step out of your comfort zone every once in a while!

Thank you everyone for your nice comments. I think I'll be stretching more often!

I too will be looking at the rest of the cupboard, although I cant see me painting the Chuck E. Cheese plastic cups anytime soon.

Thanks again!

I cant believe this one ... and all the others!!!
I think you achieved perfection in this paint , the glass is amazing , and the metal too.
I saw your Flickr site , and your still lifes are simply wonderfull , I specially like two in which a native ceramic appears , with indian faces... it´s very good!!!

Wow Pablo!

All those reflections and refractions of light - just amazing how you accomplished all that in watercolor! You are an inspiration for aspiring artists in the medium of watercolor (that would be me :-)
The colors are so rich - I love how the vibrancy of the green shows off the shades of pink. Beautiful... absolutely beautiful.
