Portrait Workshop

I had the great honor of being invited back for another portrait workshop for the Watercolor Connection group!

I so admire the camaraderie of these women and I truly appreciated hearing their stories during lunch (not to mention the chocolate cookies!)

Pushing myself to complete a portrait during the two day workshop was a challenge, and I have to say that I almost did it. It's about 98% done, I just have a few touches here and there to resolve before I post the painting.
A great big heart felt thank you to the class!

How many sitting it usually takes you to finish a portrait ..I m curious!I am still struggling to decide how many times do I let the paper dry between washes.I usually end up with muddied darks when I paint in layers.

Hi Arti! Well, I usually like to take my time especially with portraits so this was unusually fast being that it was during a workshop. I'd say I take about a week or two to finish a portrait depending on how much is involved.

You're right, the darks can get pretty dirty, it depends on which colors you choose to combine, that makes all the difference.
