This Little Piggy Went to Market 4

"This Little Piggy Went to Market 4"  17"x13" Watercolor

I rarely paint fruit so I thought it would be a good time to try it again, I love the color of these pears and the taste even more so!

My favorite molcajete is always fun to use and painting the texture is a good challenge for brush techniques.  I've said it before and will say it again, I have no tricks up my sleeve, just good ole' fashioned straight forward painting.

Ma 'Anax'+' Alaptipu

"Ma 'Anax'+' Alaptipu" 18"x 24" watercolor
Sometimes I can't really express the feelings I have working on a painting and surely this is one of them.  Let me just say how honored I am to be able to be able to paint this Chumash brother.

Slop it on and make it work! . . . that's my go-to motto!

It's been a busy summer so far what with kids out of school and a summer track and field club (my son not me!) But I've been managing working on some new paintings.  This is what I'm currently working on.  Can't wait to finish!

Here's the slop in my palette.

Here's the make it work part!

My latest painting

"Untitled" until further notice.  24"x 18"
I fell in love with this regalia, so beautiful with intricately woven feathers into the headdress and cape.  With so many of them similar in color, I had to focus on the nuances in each feather to make them come alive visually, as if they weren't already stunning to me!
Here's some process photos.  :0)

Under The Influence 1

"Under The Influence 1"

I hear Peeps are poised to take over the candy world this year infiltrating the store isles with a variety of flavors and even sizes now!
So, since they want to go even more global. . . this is my take on some guy who put Campbell's Soup cans on the art world map  ;0)
Oh, and Happy Easter everyone!
