I'm doing more layers than I usually do (or like) but I think it's going to work out fine. Foundation colors for the skin are done, now it's time to work on my favorite things. . .details!

I also usually don't work on the background till I've finished the main focal point because I tend to change my mind on the background depending on the colors of the portrait. I often change original tones to the skin or color of shirts and such. This time since I'm impatient, I just want to get the background in and work on my favorite part. (it still may change a little)

excellent start Pablo!
love that sketch below too.
think I'm going to try saving my whites more. Masking is a handy thing but am finding it is more annoying than I feel like bothering with lol Like the way you layout your sketches. Today I made a VERY small drawing of an owl to torture myself trying to save the whites..LOL maybe I'll post it tomorrow ;)
What was your initial yellow for the base? Or is it an ancient Chinese secret?! lol
HA HA HA! that would be an ancient pre columbian secret called New Gamboge. . .
Torture is good sometimes!
Oh, what a superb start. I really like your use of colors and soft touch. Gorgeous.
Great start. I like the viewpoint you've established and your technique.
