"Hello"

"Hello"  12"x9" watercolor

Happy Halloween!  I've been torturing my classes by having them paint glass for the past couple of weeks so I thought I'd better paint glass myself!  I've discovered over the years that the secret to painting glass is to look at it as shape and color until your done.

Honor Song

"Honor Song"  30" x 19"  watercolor

I had the great pleasure of meeting one of the nicest guys in the world, he's a fantastic dancer and is truly and inspiring mentor.  It's quite an honor watching him dance.  I look forward to creating some more paintings with him.

La Invocacion

"La Invocacion" 26" x 20"

This just might be one of my favorite paintings.  I don't think any artist really feels like they've created a masterpiece but this sure seems close as far as what I've put into it.
It's like a dream to watch these ancient dances full of exciting movement, colorful regalia, tradition and heart.  I am so honored to know these dancers.

Ribbons

"Ribbons"  17" x12" watercolor

I love it when the little ones are in the dance circle learning and carrying on traditions.  Some are focused and serious, some are wild and carefree, all are important.

Water Lily

"Water Lily"  20" x 14" watercolor

Just something I was working on.  I enjoyed playing with a combination of focused realism and dreamy washy passages.

Lakota

"Lakota" 19"x30"  Watercolor

This magical moment happened during an Honoring the Elder's powwow I attended, she was amongst the dancers, enjoying the music, the energetic dancing and dancing with her grandma.
It's the little moments that really touch me.
