Cross Challenge Challenge!

This month I am honored to be a part of a Cross Challenge Challenge. Last month, Jelaine Faunce contacted me to see if I'd be interested in joining her challenge buddies in the March challenge of painting an ordinary white paper envelope and I enthusiastically said yes before I realized how challenging it would be.

After a few days of wracking my brain on how to do the envelope justice, my pet rock snatched it from my hands and insisted on creating his own costume and I just happened to have my paints ready to capture the moment. So this is my challenge painting "Ghost Mail"

Please make sure to check out everyone else's blogs for their story behind their challenge painting! I've had so much fun with this one, thank you Jelaine and cohorts for including me in your challenge!

Pablo, each one of you came up with such clever and very artistic takes on this theme that could have been boring! Love your painting for the whimsey, the technical ability (always top notch) and the ingenuity of creating something so interesting (I didn't know pet rocks liked to wear costumes??).

Hi Micah, thanks for commenting, it was really fun after the initial nerves went away.

Thanks Rhonda, I loved seeing everyone's take on the envelope, I'm sure we all at least thought of the Snail Mail idea so I'm glad Chris painted it so masterfully!

Hey Pablo, thanks for the Wetcanvas page to look at. That helps me a lot! And thank you for visiting my blog and the encouraging compliment :) Glad to see you know Nick Simmons. He just did a demo at our Art Association in York, PA. He made quite a good impression. Getting over the hump of making your paper wet AND using the paint is a big step for so many folks, your truly included LOL
Keep those brushes wet!

Pablo - I have "tagged" your blog - I have admired your watercolors for some time. Check out my blog for more info about the award.

Great paintings, the three of them!
But my preference goes to yours, the most "mysterious" and expressive!

Thank you so much everyone for your generous comments. This was a really fun challenge. I'm still having connection problems but I think they are finally resolved so I'll be posting again. See you soon!
