Xochitl

This one took a long time, longer than I expected and intended but I love the end results. I don't often paint with that much blue but it happens to be my favorite color so it was a real treat! The embroidery was tedious and fun and reminded me of my grandma sitting at the table with white cloth and turning it into beautiful flowers with her magic needle. I think I'll call this one Xochitl, the Nahuatl name for Queen of the Flowers, or Field of Flowers.

Thank you, thank you twice! I started this one a year ago and then left it cause I was doing other ones and forgot about it. Glad it's done and glad you enjoy it.
Michelle! what happened to your blog? I can't find it!
And Lone Beader, haven't forgotten about the six word thingy, just can't find the right six words!
Thanks again!

Pablo, this is magical. I liked seeing the sneak peek of just the face also. The light, the pose, the composition and the subject come together in this exactly right. Perfect!

Some more amazing painting! I mentioned Martinez in one post, but I think you'd put a hurt on him - your work has an extra dimension. Very fine technique in the hair (you might be interested in the work of Jenny Davis). I went back through your posts and links and tried to get up to speed with the world of PVL - masterly!
